Topic: TO LIVE IS CHRIST
BIBLE PASSAGE: Philippians 1:12-21
”For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain”- Phil. 1:21
Before we can grow spiritually, we need to replace our wrong thinking with right thinking. This is the truth. There are many thoughts in our minds that need to be changed, but we must be careful that we know what the mind’s greatest wrong belief is.
Until we know and challenge this greatest wrong belief, we will make little or no progress in our spiritual development. So, what is the greatest wrong belief that we all are carrying in our minds. It is the belief that we can make our lives work independent of God. Apostle Paul says in the Bible passage today, “For to me, to live is Christ”
Ask yourself if that is true about you. Is Christ really your life or are you finding life in other things? To many people, response to Paul’s word will be “For me, to live is… Success, happiness, a good job, a big house, a new car, etc. However, it is not enough to confront our wrong beliefs; we need to painstakingly replace them with truths found in the word of God – the Bible.
The only way to know the word of God is to read, study, meditate upon it and apply it in your life. You won’t be a spiritually growing Christian unless you expose your body, soul and spirit to the nourishment and energy that comes from the scriptures.
The more you bring your thinking in line with God’s thinking embedded in His word, the easier it will be to say from your heart, ‘For to me, to live is Christ.’
ACTION:
Take steps to make Christ your life from today
PRAYERS:
Father, please dislodge the idea and thought in me that I can make my life work on my own. I know I cannot do this without your help. Help me l pray, in Jesus name. Amen.
